House becomes a financial nightmare

There are definitely pros and cons to selling a home for an all-cash offer.

As a first-time home seller, I wasn’t sure if it was the right decision for me.

I initially moved to Arizona from the northeastern area of the country. I was anxious to leave behind winter seasons that last more than half the year, temperatures down to negative twenty-five and multiple feet of snow. I no longer wanted to own a snow shovel, ice scraper or wool coat. I was delighted by the unique landscape of Arizona. Unfortunately, I got caught up in the spiel of the real estate agent and ended up purchasing a home I could barely afford. Despite paying for a home inspection, multiple problems emerged after I moved in. I discovered that the house was infested with bugs, not properly insulated and suffering the effects of hard water. The brand new kitchen and bathroom were definitely an attempt to mask the severity of the water issue. The abundance of rust in the water turned my hair orange, stained my clothes and destroyed any appliance that used it. The water heater, washer, dish washer, toilets, sinks, shower heads and faucets quickly corroded, clogged and needed to be replaced. The house turned into a financial nightmare. When the roof started leaking, I was anxious to unload the property. I tried working with a real estate agent. He had all sorts of recommendations to make the home more appealing to a potential buyer. All of his ideas would have cost me a great deal of money. I simply wanted to walk away from the responsibility of the house with cash in hand. I turned to an Arizona cash home buyer. It was a good decision. I got an offer the very same day I submitted the contact form. I was happy with the offer. Once I agreed, we scheduled the closing for ten days later. I didn’t need to clean, make repairs or invest into upgrades. There were no inspections, showings or insurance requirements.
