I live down south in Keystone Heights, Florida.
I really enjoy the small town vibe, my big plot of land, and being on the water. My entire family lives up north in Jacksonville. It is only about an hour’s drive but it isn’t fun to do. When my parents passed and all the assets were divided up, I ended up getting a few of their rental properties in Jax. My brother didn’t want the rental properties even though he lived right in the area. I didn’t want to manage rentals or make the drive. I knew I would get tenants calling me constantly about repairs, maintenance, and stupid things. I really didn’t want to drive an hour every time someone had a clogged toilet. So I made the decision to sell the rentals. I knew I probably could have gotten more money if I had listed the properties with a real estate agent. I knew I would need to drive there to meet them. I would need to make updates, pay for staging, pictures, closing costs, and the real estate agent fees. No thank you on that part. I ended up just looking for a Jax cash home buyer and calling it a day. I found a great rental property home buyer in Jacksonville, Florida that gave me a sweet deal. I didn’t have to do anything. We actually didn’t even meet in person. I did it all on video call, signed papers online, and then got my checks in the mail. It was all done and easy. I was really glad that I was able to stay in my Keystone home and not have to make the trip a bunch during this tough time.
