No more money going out and nothing coming in
There was a huge oak tree that sat next to my house for years. I always loved that tree and thought it was gorgeous. It makes my home look a lot more rustic. Well I now have negative memories since that tree caused a whole lot of damage for me. The oak tipped over one day while I was at work. No warning at all. I just came home to a tree on top of my house. It got the porch, my bedroom, and part of the living room. There was a giant section of house that needed to be totally remodeled and sealed in. I paid for the tree removal and a crew to pick up glass and debris. I then had the part of the house lightly sealed off. The rest of the renovations were obscene though. I needed windows, drywall, electric, plumbing, and all sorts of contractor work. The house was too big for me anyway. I then got it in my head to sell. Get out of the problem before it bankrupted me. I didn’t need to put in any more work. No more contractors or clean up. No more money going out and nothing coming in. He wrote me a check, let me take my stuff, and I was gone. I ended up buying a place that was the right size for me with that money. It worked out great in the end.
